Middleburg Arts Council
December 2009, The Town Council adopted an ordinance to create the Middleburg Arts Council.
The mission of the Middleburg Arts Council is to create opportunities for the entire community to value, participate in and benefit from the Arts.
Goals:
To take advantage of the “Minds Wide Open” Women in the Arts” between March & June 2010 through the Va. Commission for the Arts.
Provide local Artisans a supportive environment
To provide the community the opportunity enjoy the arts.
The Middleburg Arts Council has joined with the Business and Professional community in Middleburg and surrounding area to participate in “MINDS WIDE OPEN” to provide venues for women to present their art.
“MINDS WIDE OPEN: Virginia Celebrates Women in the Arts” is the first statewide celebration of its kind. Between March and June of 2010, thousands of special programs and events will occur across the Commonwealth to honor contributions by women to arts and culture.
Our calendar is rapidly filling up with events. Middleburg Players will be kicking off the celebration with their presentation of the enormously popular musical “Nunsense” on March 19-21 and March 26-28. The celebration will end on the last day of the Upperville Colt and Horse Show in June.
If you would like to be a part of the Art Council Committee or have ideas please contact Cindy Pearson at the Town office cpearson@townofmiddleburg.
